GUIDED WALK - Night Play: Illuminating Belonging

 Join Arup and City People for a night of illumination as they explore how public art, play and light can act as powerful enablers of health, engagement, wellbeing and night-time safety in urban environments.

Led by Arup and City People, in partnership with the Randwick Health & Innovation Precinct and supported by Randwick City Council, this guided walk will demonstrate how experience-led design after dark can support not only movement and compliance, but also care, confidence and connection for everyone - children, families, visitors and staff - navigating the city at night.

Along the walk, you’ll hear insights from:

Through this curated experience, we’ll explore:

• The role of public art and light in supporting care, comfort and confidence for diverse users
• How playful design after dark can foster wellbeing, connection and a sense of belonging
• How experience-led approaches can reshape perceptions of safety beyond compliance

We’ll conclude with light refreshments and a short performance in the playground.
